Blocking WhatsApp traffic

Overview

WhatsApp is free communication software. It's function is such that it can allow users to bypass Exinda Control Processes, even after creating a Policy to block the traffic.

Hotspot Shield can be blocked by the following steps:

1. Block UDP and TCP: 5222, 5223, 5228, and 3478.
2. Create a Policy to block traffic for the following:
   • whatsapp application objects.
   • whatsapp-audio objects.
   • whatsapp-video objects.

These can all be done through creating an application object and then using that application object in a block policy.
