Overview
You have a custom application signature (e.g. Zoom) on an Exinda using older firmware (e.g. v7.4.11). Upon upgrading the appliance to the latest v7.4.13, you find that the custom Zoom signature has overwritten the default Zoom signature released in the firmware upgrade. You are curious whether prioritizing custom signatures over the built-in signatures is intentional.
Information
- Custom application signatures are not overwritten when ExOS firmware is upgraded This is done to maintain your configured changes
- Upon upgrading, the Exinda will see the default signature as a duplicate and remove its default signature to maintain your previous custom application signature. This logic was built-in since custom application signatures may be needed to operate on your network.
- You can open an enhancement request with the Product Team to consider changing the behavior. Please use this article to submit a request to our Development Team for consideration.
