Overview
This article addresses situations where the following symptoms are present:
- Exinda is not graphing data
- The logs display : collectord.NOTICE (10s) Skip 10s.
- Connection tracking table is repeatedly filling up
Solution
This is unlikely to be a hardware issue. The problem is likely to be a huge amount of connections overflowing in the network, leading to an abundance of recording/tracking issues on the Exinda. This could be resulting from a high number of “ignored” connections on the network. The existence of high percentage of ignored connections will indicate a very high probability of a port scan or other types of malicious attempts to exploit the network. This is a security risk.
