Overview
While checking NICs settings in Exinda Configuration > System > Network
> NIC
, a specific Slot is not available to configure as a bridge.
However, when checking the iDRAC System > Network Devices summary, the card (NIC Slot 6) is visible.
This article provides details on the possible root cause for such Bridge issues.
Information
As multiple Expansion slots are only available for Exinda datacenter models (806X, 1006X, 1206X series), it is possible to use different physical slots in the IDRAC. For example, change the card location from Slot 6 and place it into another non-occupied slot (e.g. Slot 4). This way the NIC settings in Exinda WebUI can show the required Slot and Bridge configuration.
Important: When disassembling/swapping the slots, make sure to power off the device.
Note: for specific cards, certain Exinda functionality might be not available (e.g Bypass mode). For this particular NIC, Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet BCM5720, the bypass was not working for the 2-port cards, because of the Card's hardware specs - bypass is not on the list of the device's features.
