Overview
This article provides a brief description of the main functions and purpose of the Exinda Active Directory (AD) service and its corresponding integration manual.
Information
Using the Exinda Active Directory (AD) service allows our users to:
- Expose AD usernames in monitoring and reporting, no longer having view users as IP addresses.
- Utilize AD groups and usernames in optimization policies (thereby implementing QoS).
- Optimization Policies based on individual users or entire groups.
Important: If there are 2 different domains with 2 Exindas, there can be two different Domain Controllers to fetch the users for each domain. If the Exinda is installed for a specific domain, it will be able to fetch the users from the connector installed on the specific domain controller.
If two different domains are presented, you will have to install one Exinda connector on one Domain Controller, so that the Exinda can fetch users for the corresponding domain. From the options available on Exinda's connector, you can add the Exinda for that domain, but your DC admin will have to separate the users/groups for that domain so that each Exinda can fetch only the relevant users.
It is possible to exclude the users from the other domain if required, using Excluded Users option.
