MySQL TCP Port 3306 Open Despite SQL Access Being Disabled

Overview

To be able to allow access to the database, port 3306 needs to be "open". Users may opt to "close" this port for security purposes.

Exinda listens on port 3306, which is the MySQL port. By default this is disabled. However, in Exinda this is "open" even when the SQL Access is disabled.

This article provides information on this issue and how it can be resolved.

Information

The setting that allows access to the database can be configured by navigating to Configuration > System > Setup > SQL Access tab.

Resolution

The system has been changed so that the port is open only when SQL Access has been enabled. Please upgrade to the latest firmware to apply these changes to your system.
